Announcement · September 14, 2026
On the morning of Monday, September 14, 2026, the Secondary Education for Human Capital Competitiveness (SE4HC) Project, coordinated by the General Secondary Education Department of the Ministry of Education, Youth and Sport (MoEYS), organized the “Orientation Meeting on Supporting the Implementation of the School-Based STEM Education Framework in 2027.” The meeting was highly presided over by H.E. Dr. Om Romny, Secretary of State of MoEYS and SE4HC Project Director. It was attended by the technical working group, the national working group, national STEM master teachers, representatives from the 25 Provincial and Municipal Departments of Education, Youth and Sport (POEYS), and 259 target schools.
The meeting was held in person at the STEP UP Project Meeting Room (6th Floor, Chao Ponhea Hok Administration Building of MoEYS) and virtually via Zoom.
The main objectives of the meeting were: (1) To present an overview of MoEYS’s policy on promoting STEM education at the school level and the SE4HC project framework. (2) To present the concept note on supporting the implementation of the School-Based STEM Education Framework. (3) To present the selection criteria, roles, and responsibilities of School-Level STEM Animators. (4) To present the plan and tools for baseline and annual assessments to identify schools that have successfully achieved the implementation of the School-Based STEM Framework.
It should also be noted that SE4HC will provide support to all 259 target schools in implementing the SBSF (School-Based STEM Framework). Through these framework implementation support activities, the project will provide capacity-building training for POEYS, schools, and STEM teachers; offer school-level support through the coordination of School-Based Mentors; organize study visits to exchange experiences among target schools; host student STEM exhibitions; and provide recognition to schools that successfully achieve the annual framework implementation targets. As a result of supporting these activities, at least 120 target schools are expected to achieve Level 2 or higher, and 210 teachers will become outstanding teachers and receive STEM awards.
